South African food is unique in the world.  It's flavors and tastes come from centuries of shared cultures. Spices from Africa, Asia and Europe combine to create some of the most mouth-watering tastes you'll ever experience.

As an American wife married to a South African husband, I was first exposed to South African food in 2001 and fell in love with it instantly.  Each dish was unlike anything I had ever tasted and even those that seemed familiar to me, somehow had a unique flavor.

I'm happy to share these traditional recipes with those of you who have not had the pleasure of yet visiting the wonderful country of South Africa.   Each dish will have your family and friends asking for more.

The origins of many of these recipes can be traced back hundreds of years and they are passed along from generation to generation.  Any good South African cook will know how to make the recipes in this special collection, and I'm pleased to share them now with you.
